i got that off one of my writers when she submitted her opinion article for the newspaper of the Unit.

I made this deviantart journal after taking photos during the Red Cross Youth Council visit to Bahay ng Pag-ibig. I was initially planning to post the photos here but then I'd like to randomly share something one of the moderators told me.

I was taking photos of the elderly and the volunteers [candid and posed] when she tapped my shoulder and told me.

"You're one of the people who have the means and the capability to show people what's happening around here...Be one of those who use it for the right reasons."

And though, we all know how retirement homes are. Here it's rather sad because MOTHERS that took care of their children even when life [financially, emotionally and personally] were crashing down on them were THROWN there. Some didn't even know they were being left there until their children actually left them. It's sad but it's a reality. Why's that connected to what the moderator said? Here, perhaps we can't change the way things are but our photos give us the ability to voice out our opinions. Man can move mountains. We can speak through our photos.

Let's use photography to voice out for betterment.

This may be corny, but excuse my sentimentality. Those few hours I spent with the grandmothers really melted and broke my heart. So do excuse my sudden gush of sentimentality. Hearing that from the moderator who doesn't even know me that well. It was rather moving...

I hope you catch/get what I'm trying to say in this Journal. I'm rather tired.
